Cosmopolitan School offers a well-structured Lebanese National Curriculum blended with the American CCSS standards in order to expose our learners to international benchmarks and strengthen them with higher competencies. Our curriculum is aligned to internationally recognized standards and benchmarks. This comprehensive framework for teaching and learning is supported by inquiry and research-based instructional practice and infused with ongoing assessment and feedback that allows for individual growth and success.
CS Curriculum is designed to engage students and encourage them to think critically and creatively and develop skills, interests and desire to pursue learning. In addition to the academic goals, curriculum is designed to achieve technological, social and personal skills to enable students to become leaders and socially responsible citizens. Special consideration is also given to motor skills and physical education.

Teaching Philosophy
Our philosophy of teaching and learning is rooted from the fact that each child is different, and all children are creative. At CS, Teaching and learning strategies are based on student – centered instructional approach in which students influence the content, activities, materials, and pace of learning. Teachers employ a wide variety of teaching strategies and techniques such as: collaborative, Inquiry- based, cooperative, project – based, problem- based and research based teaching and learning instructions.
Students are supported, advised and coached to achieve their full potential. Our students are Inspired to challenge convention and create the future by influencing and changing the world through new and entrepreneurial solutions.
Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity are at the epicenter of our teaching and learning programs.
Assessment and Achievements
At CS assessment is integral to the teaching–learning process, facilitating student learning and improving instruction. Students Achievements are assessed and evaluated through several forms:
- Assessment for Learning (Formative Assessment)
Assessment for learning is ongoing assessment that allows teachers to monitor students on a day-to-day basis and modify their teaching based on what the students need to be successful. This assessment provides students with the timely, specific feedback that they need to make adjustments to their learning.
- Assessment of Learning (summative Assessment)
Assessment of learning is a summative assessment used is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark. Midterm and End of term Exams are examples of summative assessment strategies applied at CS.
- Assessment as Learning
Assessment as learning develops and supports students’ metacognitive skills. This form of assessment is crucial in helping students become lifelong learners. As students engage in peer and self-assessment, they learn to make sense of information, relate it to prior knowledge and use it for new learning. Students develop a sense of ownership and efficacy when they use teacher, peer and self-assessment feedback to make adjustments, improvements and changes to what they understand.
